Local Lexington resident Jerry Hite orchestrated a fantastic Christmas light spectacle last year that was inspired by a Christmas light show produced by The Holdman Family in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Computer timing an extravagant display of lights to the Christmas melodies draws a massive crowd to their home each year, and each year the Holdman’s collect donations for their local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mr. Hite plans to do just this for the second year. With a light count of over 5800 for last year, Mr. Hite is amping up the holiday spirit adding a 19-foot mega tree complete with 9600 lights, nine 4-foot Christmas trees and more bringing this year’s light count to over 35,000! Mr. Hite’s display to “Sandstorm” won him local Columbia station WIS-TV’s Christmas Light Show award.
