Kayla, a teen from Summerville, has seen her fair share of tourists visiting her hometown, so it was only a matter of time before she would be bitten by the travel bug, herself. After narrowing down possible destinations, Kayla wished to take a cruise to the Bahamas!

In February of 2012, Kayla set sail from Charleston aboard Carnival Cruise Lines! Growing up in a culinary hotspot, Kayla is quite the foodie, and she was looking forward to trying the gourmet cuisine aboard the ship. Luckily for her, the chef made anything that she requested, including her favorite kind of cheesecake. “She was in heaven,” says her mom, Carrie, “Everything was delicious, and she tried so many different things!”

Kayla was also excited to check out the ports during her travels, and she was especially fond of Nassau. While there, she visited the Atlantis Marine Habitat Aquarium, and she was blown away by all of the exotic marine life! She soon made her way to the pool, where she spent the rest of the afternoon soaking up some rays.

After a week at sea, Kayla headed home with pictures and stories of her travels… and an even greater urge to travel some more! “We had such a wonderful time!  She’s already asking to go on another cruise,” says Carrie.
