Local high school to reveal amount raised at Winter Days Assembly and host sendoff party for a local wish child.

wish kid, DallasFor the third year in a row, Spring Valley High is making a tremendous impact in the lives of wish kids in our community. On Friday, December 15, 2017 at the culmination of Spring Valley High’s Winter Days philanthropy month, students will gather for a schoolwide assembly to present a donation to Make-A-Wish South Carolina to help fund wishes for local kids with critical illnesses.

During November and December Spring Valley High set out to support several charities through Winter Days. The Winter Days committee surveys community needs, set goals, and partners with the students, faculty and staff to reach their defined goals.

In the past two years alone Spring Valley High has raised over $30,000 for Make-A-Wish South Carolina! Their goal this year for Make-A-Wish was $7,500—which they have surpassed! The amount they raised will be announced at the Winter Days Assembly. Wish child, Dallas, and his family will be at the assembly. Following the assembly, the Winter Days committee will host a wish sendoff party for Dallas.

Dallas is a 14-year-old boy who has leukemia. His wish, to go to Walt Disney World® Resort, is being granted this month. Make-A-Wish is proud to have the caring students of Spring Valley High host Dallas for his sendoff party. There are few things more powerful and moving than kids helping kids in times of need.
