Hillcrest High School is in the spirit of granting wishes! This Spirit Week is taking place from February 2-9. Over the past several years, Hillcrest High School has worked hard to raise funds for Upstate charities and this year Hillcrest has chosen Make-A-Wish® South Carolina as its beneficiary. Spirit Week provides the community many ways to take part in fun fundraising events, from talent shows to pancake breakfast to roller skating. Spirit Week proves that raising awareness for a good cause feels good.
On Friday, Hillcrest High students will host a kick-off assembly followed by a wish send-off party for a local wish kid. Representing the heart of the campaign, wish kid, Kathleen, will join the students of Hillcrest High for an afternoon filled with delight.
Five-year-old Kathleen battles Tetralogy of Fallot, a heart condition that changes the normal flow of blood through the heart. Kathleen wishes to go to Walt Disney World® Resort, a magical destination that has become a haven for many wish families. One her wish, Kathleen will be able to replace anxiety with hope. As a special surprise, students will present Kathleen with her own princess dress!
Make-A-Wish is proud to have the caring students of Hillcrest High School host Kathleen and her family for a special wish party during their Spirit Week fundraising campaign. We feel there are few things more powerful and moving than kids helping kids in times of need.
