‘Ohana means family, and for Matthews, ‘Ohana means support and strength, too.
Whether up in the air or out at sea, Matthews is happiest taking on the coolest adventures. While Matthews loves the spontaneity of adventuring, his brain tumor can keep him tethered to the ground.
Thanks to our Make-A-Wish 'Ohana, Matthews was able to travel to Hawaii with his family.
ADVENTURES WITH FAMILY
While he was there, he got to take a helicopter tour of the big island. With the roar of the engine in his ears, he saw mountains, volcanoes, trees, and beaches from high in the sky. When he wasn’t exploring the world from new heights, Matthews was fishing in the Pacific Ocean, trying to reel in the biggest catch he could find as the waves crashed around him.
Most importantly, Matthews was able to have these adventures with his family, adventures he had not been able to have since he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Now, Matthews' 'Ohana is stronger than ever before, and with their help and support, nothing can stop him from experiencing the adventures he loves.
