Even though fifteen-year-old Jordan from North Augusta was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a form of brain tumor, he is an avid fan of all things skateboarding! So when Make-A-Wish® volunteers asked about his wish, Jordan wished to meet famous skateboarder Rob Dyrdek.
On April 1, Jordan’s wish came true when he and his family traveled to Atlanta to meet up with Rob and the rest of his “Fantasy Factory” skateboarding crew!
Jordan sat down and talked with Rob and was even treated to some autographed clothes, hat and a skateboard! “The t-shirt that Jordan took with him says "Make your Own Luck" - it is one of Rob's sayings. How true for Jordan. He was dealt a hand that wasn't fair - that we don't understand, but he has made the decision to make his own luck and he chooses to have not only good days, but great days,” said Jordan’s mom.
After the meet-and-greet, Rob surprised Jordan with backstage passes to the WrestleMania pre-show event Rob was taking part in! Jordan loves wrestling so this was an added surprise to the already amazing wish!
Jordan’s mom reflected on the wish saying, “The trip gave us an opportunity to just be "normal". So many times people really don't appreciate that. For the last two years that is one of the things that Jordan wanted the most. We were able to explore Atlanta - meet new people and not have to worry about cancer and how it has changed our lives. Thank you Make-A-Wish for all you have done for him!”
