I wish to go to Walt Disney World
AJ and his sister, Taylor, opened the show with an absolutely beautiful cover of Tom Petty's "Learning To Fly." It was an incredible treat for our guests to hear these talented musicians.
At eight-years-old, AJ received a wish after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. His wish provided so much joy; he realized that concentrating on the wish experience is extremely motivating. Now, AJ is a part of the healing process for kids like himself. He has hosted six annual concerts with his family, including Taylor, to raise funds for wishes.
I wish to go to a movie premiere
We were lucky to have wish kid, Manny, as our special emcee for Wish Ball 2019. Manny's naturally affable personality was the perfect accompaniment to the evening's program.
Manny has been challenged with a genetic disorder since being diagnosed at birth. It meant time away from school, his friends, and simply not feeling well. Then Manny wished to go to a Hollywood movie premiere. On his sixteenth birthday, he arrived with his family in Los Angeles and began a journey that would positively alter his life. Manny was happy to be able to share his story with attendees and how his life has been impacted by a wish.

The spunky wish kid, Lucy, took the stage and stole the show. From having a whole ballroom snapping in appreciation for her dress to visiting guest tables and showing off her doll, "Princess" Lucy showed everyone just why wish kids are so special.
Lucy is a little girl with a big smile and a zest for life. When Lucy was given the chance to wish for anything, it was apparent that she needed time to simply be with her family at the happiest place on Earth.
Wish Dad and SC Board Member
After experiencing a wish first-hand, Heyward realized the life-changing effects of a wish granted. His daughter’s wish to go on a European cruise had taken them to distant places. At Wish Ball he was happy to share their commitment to help kids near home receive that same power of a wish when they need it.
Moved by the experience of his sister’s wish, Lawton created a video of their experience to share with others. At Wish Ball he joined his dad onstage to further share why he felt wishes are important to support.
Make-A-Wish® National Board Alumni Association Chair
Tiffany Rowe is a 30-year volunteer for Make-A-Wish, beginning with the granting of her own wish in April 1988. The indescribable impact of her wish experience forged a life-long commitment to Make-A-Wish and she serves the mission across the entire organization in any way she is needed. Tiffany was the first wish child elected to the Make-A-Wish America National Board of Directors and in her 7-year tenure as a Director she was a member of the Executive, Board Development, and Strategic Planning committees. She is honored to currently be serving as Chair of the Make-A-Wish America National Board Alumni Association. When she is not volunteering for Make-A-Wish, Tiffany is a life coach, writer and advocate focused on helping people build everyday resilience and live their bravest life.
At Wish Ball it was an honor to have Tiffany as our keynote speaker of the evening sharing her unforgettable story.
LIVE WISH REVEAL
The program culminated in a live wish reveal for Jenna who learned her wish to go on a European cruise was coming true. While undergoing treatments for cancer, Jenna wished to be far away. Her wish empowered her to once again feel free to be active. Jenna gained independence and found joy in new adventures. It was a special moment for Wish Ball guests to be a part of her once-in-a-lifetime experience. Watch a video to learn more about Jenna.
