More amazing and incredible than we could ever have dreamed!

- Luke's mom

18-year-old Luke from Greer, SC, received his wish on December 17, 2016. Luke wished to have his family's 1965 Mustang - the very one his mom drove in high school - renovated.

This is part 3 in a series of stories chronicling Luke's wish.

Luke has battled Hodgkin's lymphoma and while sick, dreaming of that Mustang restored to its original beauty and driving it through town inspired Luke. Now his wish has come true and thanks to The Mustang Shop and the Foothills Mustang Club and many generous donors and volunteers who worked tirelessly on the car he has an amazing car that will provide a lifetime of joy and encouragement.

On a cold Saturday, amid revving engines and sea of classic Ford Mustangs, a large crowd excitedly gathered to watch Luke's wish came true. Many were donors who had contributed parts or volunteered their time to help work on the car over the 14-month renovation. Luke's family and friends were also on-hand to witness the incredible moment.

Luke, unaware of what was about to happen was led blindfolded into the Mustang Shop. When he was in place, the music of "Mustang Sally" by Wilson Pickett rang out through the garage before being eclipsed by the beautiful purr of the car's revving engine. In an thrilling moment, with the true thunder of Mustangs and the squeal of smoking tires, the car busted out it's paper barrier to arrive in front of Luke. Moved to tears, Luke saw for the first time, the reality of the dream he'd held onto for so long.

The very same week as receiving his wish, Luke received good scans from his doctor that showed his cancer is in remission. When Luke cranks his car to take it for a long drive, the spark that brings the engine to life will be a symbolic spark for the hope that was created with his wish. Having had the chance to dream about what could be and what would be, gave Luke the strength to ensure he saw his wish granted and lives a healthy, fulfilling life to enjoy it.

This is the video that aired live on Facebook on December 17, 2016.
