Make-A-Wish® South Carolina is pleased to announce that Misty Herrin is its new Director of Development.
Most recently Herrin has served as the Director of Special Events for Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Prior to this assignment she gained extensive fundraising experience with Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Over six years, she successfully planned and executed statewide development of special events and programs for the hospital. In addition, Herrin brings experience in Annual Giving from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Speaking of her new assignment Herrin said, “I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to join the outstanding team at Make-A-Wish South Carolina.” She continued to add, “I have two major passions: higher education and children in need. I’m fortunate to have chosen a career path that has allowed me to raise funds for both of these causes. But, once you've had the privilege to work for an organization that has kids at the core of their mission, it gets in your system.”
President and CEO, Bill Tiller, stated: “I am delighted to have Misty join the Make-A-Wish South Carolina team. Misty’s tenure leading community development efforts for Children’s Hospital of Alabama makes her an ideal fit for the important work we are doing for children across our state. Her track record of success at Children’s Hospital, Presbyterian College, and with Children’s Miracle Network is impressive. I’m confident her many talents and her passionate embrace of the Make-A-Wish mission will produce great success for our chapter in South Carolina.”
Herrin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from The University of Alabama. She will assume her duties on Monday, June 30, 2014.
