Applebee's® Restaurants Mid-Atlantic, the company-owned restaurants of Applebee's Grill + Bar, kicks off its annual Make-A-Wish® South Carolina fundraising campaign today to help grant wishes to local children battling critical illnesses. Guests can join the cause from April 1 to April 30 when visiting participating Applebee's restaurants throughout South Carolina.
“Being able to grant a child’s wish and see the happiness this brings is a special gift and we are thankful to be a small part of the process,” said Elizabeth McGee, vice president of operations of Applebee’s Restaurants Mid-Atlantic. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Make-A-Wish South Carolina and hope that each community will come out to help us surpass our goal this year.”
Guests can participate by purchasing Wish Cards in the amount of $5 while dining at any Applebee’s restaurant located in South Carolina. Proceeds from the Wish Cards will help grant wishes and provide renewed energy and hope for children in the Carolinas who are battling critical illnesses. If the restaurants reach their goal of raising $100,000, at least 19 local children will get their wish. As a thank you, each Wish Card is good for $15 in Applebee’s savings, valid for $5 off $25 in each May, June and July this year in participating restaurants across South Carolina.
“We are deeply grateful to Applebee’s for its steadfast and very generous support of Make-A-Wish South Carolina’s important mission for children. Together, we are transforming lives. From ownership and senior leadership to the frontline team members in the restaurants, Applebee’s embodies the spirit of hope and joy of the Make-A-Wish vision.” said Misty Farmer, Interim President and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. “Because of the charitable investments made by Applebee’s Restaurants Mid-Atlantic, its team members and its guests, more children in South Carolina will have a wish to gain renewed energy and strength to help them heal. We value and appreciate our partnership with Applebee’s Restaurants Mid-Atlantic.”

Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Make-A-Wish South Carolina granted 207 wishes last year, averaging to a wish every forty-eight hours. The chapter receives funding through private donations, individuals, companies and special events.
